like a star
i shine only at night
never born as a lady of light
in sun i do fade
to a barely-seen shade
but it’s all right
it’s all right
in the dark
i am strong and secure
in the light i can barely endure
give me shadow and smoke
as my everyday cloak
it’s my allure
