Trigger Warning

Trojan horse healing –
one morsel of ancient wisdom
coated with sugared pearls
can feed
(or at least sustain)
a thousand starving souls

Life is too beautiful for words
but still we do our best
to grunt
and scribble symbols
in the dirt

while efforts assembled
with sticks and hieroglyphs
are trampled underfoot
