The Figure and Portrait in Line and Wash
March 10-13, 2017 (9am-4pm) From the delicate hatching of silverpoint to the liquid washes of watercolor, master artists have developed a rich assortment of techniques to create an image on paper. Each approach provides a distinctive perspective which allows artists to better understand form and render with greater fidelity. Artists as diverse as DaVinci and Sorolla will be reviewed to see how each resolved issues related to drawing and painting. The first two days will be devoted to line drawing using silverpoint and pen and ink. The last two days will focus on watercolor in both monochrome and full color painting. A diversity of methods and techniques will be demonstrated in addition to a thorough analysis of form and anatomy. Visit website
