On Saturday, May 14th, 2016, The Silverlake Flea is launching it's newest addition, The Mod Pods (two small on site lounges that are delicately designed by the Homee design team. The Mod Pods will provide the much needed chill zone for the Eastside marketplace shoppers to lounge and will be a sneak peak to the general public at the non-virtual side of the Homee. The Homee co-founders will be designing and hosting The Mod Pods that will feature unique modern home décor pieces from Amsterdam Modern and provide an ambient area for shoppers to chill for a moment, soak up the vibe, listen to cool beats spun by the House Fleajay and peep cool Vintage and Handmade Collections for sale from a comfortable distance. Flea-goers can look forward to the free giveaways that will happen in The Mod Pods and can look for clues as to what those free surprises might be by checking in daily with the Silverlake Flea Instagram starting on May 7, 2016. The Silverlake Flea is free to the general public and provides a free parking lot on Golden Gate just above Sunset Blvd. The free entrance to the market is located at The Micheltorena Street Elementary School located in the heart of Silverlake. The Silverlake Flea has continued to raise money for LAUSD for the past five years while it has been in existence at the Micheltorena Street Elementary School.
