In celebrating Black History Month we will study a story by Langston Hughes, Thank You Ma'am. Langston Hughes is one of the giants of the Harlem Renaissance of the early 20th Century. The story is about how youth can learn from their elders. This program is focused on helping English language learners with their reading skills and background knowledge as a step toward joining our regular English discussion programs. We believe that being able to take part in this kind of community activity is not only one of the best ways to improve your English but also to enjoy the richness and diversity of American Culture.
