Painting with Emphasis on Light and Color: Still Life and Figure
March 27-31, 2017 (9am-4pm) This workshop will emphasize capturing and understanding the variety of lights through color relationship. By doing so the local colors, such as fresh tones will be eliminated. The same principles apply to all subjects. Still life is always the best subject to learn about color relationships and constructing planes. This knowledge and skill are essential in portraiture, not only to capture the likeness, but the light that will help set up a painting's harmony, mood, and atmosphere. This workshop will also include a focus on design and the art of setting up a still life. Students will have the option to work from the live model, as well as still life throughout the week.
