The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) and Barnsdall Art Park Foundation will host a free series of readings and performances on February 25th from 1-5 p.m., as part of the related programming for the exhibition, Ours is a City of Writers at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) at Barnsdall Park (4800 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90065). The exhibition explores new approaches to writing, which are evidenced across the contemporary art world—particularly here in Los Angeles! Invited writers have selected artists to collaborate with and vice versa, resulting in more than 60 collaborations in the form of writing, artwork, performance or programs, exhibited in the gallery. Innovative writing in our city—from fiction and poetry to theory and criticism—finds corresponding forms and synergies with practices in art. The February 25 event includes live performances by Miller Robinson, Litia Perta & Dylan Mira, Ginny Cook & Kim Schoen, Ridiculous (A.L. Steiner and others), a D.J. set by Vanessa Place & Antonio Trecel Diaz and a reading by Robin Coste Lewis. http://www.lamag.org.
