Kohler is Senior Vice President-Human Resources & Stewardship, and has served on Kohler’s Board of Directors since 1999.She is responsible for the company’s worldwide Human Resources organization and leads Kohler Stewardship – Kohler’s global corporate social responsibility program which drives ethics, a respectful workplace, engagement, community partnerships and associate giving, corporate giving and the Arts Industry.Ms. Kohler began her career at Kohler Co. in 1995 as Director-Public Affairs. She was named Vice President of Communications in 1998 and Vice President of Human Resources in 1999. In 2002, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources, with the addition of Labor Relations and. In 2015, she took on the responsibility of Kohler Stewardship.Prior to joining Kohler Co., Ms. Kohler served as Executive Director of the Kohler Foundation, Inc., for two years. Earlier in her career, she facilitated team development as an Outward Bound instructor for clients such as Quaker Oats, Wharton Business School and the University of Chicago; managed National Players, a classical theatre company in Washington D.C.; and worked for Youth Guidance, a Chicago agency providing artists to Chicago Public Schools.Ms. Kohler currently serves as board chair of Outward Bound, the Kohler Trust for Arts & Education and the Kohler Trust for Preservation. Additionally, she sits on the board of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, The Actors Center in New York City and Lawrence University. Formerly, Laura served on the Kohler Public School Board of Education for 8 years, and in 2005 was named co-recipient of the Wisconsin State Superintendent’s “Friends of Education” award.Ms. Kohler received her bachelor’s degree in political science and theatre from Duke University, Durham, N.C., and her master’s degree in fine arts from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
