Come and learn the basics of Conga, Timbales, Guiro, Bongo & how they work together. The focus will be on Cuban music. Each session will give participants training in different Cuban Rhythms. Classes open to all levels and experience. Taught by Montreal's Aldo Mazza, Percussionist/Drummer. Aldo Mazza is the Founder and Artistic Director of the KoSA International Percussion Workshops, and a member of the internationally acclaimed percussion ensemble, Repercussion, Aldo is an internationally recognized drummer-percussionist, recording artist, clinician, composer, author, and educator. He has recorded over 100 CDs with such artists as Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi, Alain Caron and Aldo Nova and has performed live with such artists as James Brown, Chris De Burgh, Oliver Jones and major symphony orchestras. Aldo has also participated both as a performer and an adjudicator in numerous international classical, contemporary, as well as jazz music festivals. IMPORTANT; Class is limited to 15 students. Please bring your own instrument, some will be provided during the workshop.
