In a series of talks, the artists of Open Edition reflect on their work through the exhibition’s theme of looking back and looking forward. In the final iteration, we will have an exhibition walk-through led by artists Mohamed Thiam, Guilllermo Trejo, Ericka Walker and Melanie Yugo. Thiam’s collage series W.O.M.B. is part of an ongoing research on stereotypes and prejudices, while Walker’s current body of work is driven by her research into historical propaganda posters and the machinery of hydroelectric and logging projects juxtaposed with text from treaty and land claim agreements in Canada. In addition to presenting her own prints, Yugo creates a risography workshop in the gallery, and Trejo will discuss a special project developed in CUAG’s Collection Invitational series with historical prints selected from CUAG’s collection.and Trejo will discuss a special project developed in CUAG’s Collection Invitational series with historical prints selected from CUAG’s collection.
