Sunday July 16, 2017 1-4pm Make an acrylic painting of your own! Brian Batista will take you through an introduction of this wonderful modern medium. You will gain basic knowledge of acrylic properties and realize that through practice the possibilities are endless. When modified with acrylic gels, mediums, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolor or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with the other media. Try it out. Sampler Classes are designed for anyone wanting to try out different mediums before investing in workshops and supplies. Classes are 3 hours long and all supplies are included. We begin with a brief demo and discussion of various techniques. Participants will then experiment and create their own masterpiece. If you want to try a something new or have never painted before, or even if you already have a favorite medium, sampler classes are a great way to expand your artistic horizons. $40 *all supplies included  Art Instructor Bio: Brian Batista Brian currently has an active studio practice in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Brian graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a BFA with distinction, was the recipient of a Board of Governors award and the the 2001 Valedictorian. He is co-founded (CUFF) the Calgary Underground Film Festival and is an active member of the Calgary arts Community. His experience and involvement in the arts community is extensive.He currently teaches animation at the Quickdraw Animation Society and the Alberta College of Art and Design.
